Topic " Nếu...thì.." đã quá nổi tiếng trên forum chúng ta, nhưng dường như đợt này nó đang lạnh đi đôi chút (có lẽ do trận mưa lịch sử) vì thế tớ quyết hâm nóng nó lên. Nhưng lần này sẽ có sự cách tân, những câu "nếu thì" sẽ được translate into E hết :D .

I) Các cách dùng cơ bản.
a. Loại I.
Nếu mệnh đề IF diễn tả 1 hành động có thật và sẽ xảy ra ở tương lai hoặc hiện tại, hay 1 sự thật luôn luôn đúng, ta dùng cấu trúc:
If + S + Simple Present, S + will/ Simple Present/ modal Verb.
VD:
If I work late, I get tired.
If you get wet, you should change your clothes.
If I have money, I will buy the car.

Diễn tả 1 sự thật luôn luôn đúng ở quá khứ. Ta có cấu trúc:
If + S + Simple Past, S+ Simple Past.
VD:
We went home early if it was foggy.

b. Loại II
Diễn tả 1 sự việc ko có thật ở hiện tại. Ta dùng cấu trúc:
If + S + Simple Past ( Past subjunctive), S + would + V
VD:
If I were you, I would buy this car.
If I had money, I would buy this car. ( Lúc này tôi ko có tiền => tôi ko thể mua xe)
Lưu ý:
Simple Past ở mệnh đề IF đối với TO BE, luôn dùng WERE. ( Trừ văn nói)

c. Loại III:
Diễn tả 1 sự việc ko có thật ở quá khứ. Ta dùng cấu trúc:
If + S + Past Perfect, S + would have + Past Participle
VD:
If I had had money, I would have bought the car.
( Vào thời điểm đó trong quá khứ, tôi ko có tiền)
d. Loại 0 (Zero Condition):
Dùng để diễn tả 1 việc luôn đúng , hoặc đã luôn đúng trong quá khứ (The zero conditional is used to talk about something that is always true, or that was always true in the past).
Eg:
+ If you mix blue and red, you get purple
(Dùng hiện tại đơn cho cả 2 mệnh đề)

+ If I asked her to come with us, she always said no
(Dùng quá khứ đơn cho cả 2 mệnh đề)

e. Loại mix (Mix Condition):
Câu điều kiện mix : Là mix các mệnh đề của Điều kiện loại I, II , III tùy vào nghĩa của câu ^^.
Eg:
+ If she hadn't stayed up so late last night, she wouldn't be so sleepy now.
(Mệnh đề If thuộc loại III vì là quá khứ, mệnh đề chính thuộc loại II vì là ko có thật, sự thật là cô ấy đang buồn ngủ).
